Its nearly here, yep, the 1st round of the Maxxis British Championship takes place this Sunday at Fatcat motoparc in Doncaster.
Its credit to our series that we can attract some of Europes best rider’s to the UK and this year is no change. Marc DeReuer, Kevin Strijbos, Maarten Cremers, Gert Krestinov and Mattis Karro will all be heading to front, but Im in no doubt their hands full trying to keep the the British boys at bay. With the likes of Kristian Whatley, Martin Barr, Shaun Simpson, Nathen Parker and Jason Doogan, to name a few, there will be no easy races this year for anyone in the MX1 class.
The same has to be said for the MX2 class as Swiss MonsterEnergy Yamaha rider Aranuld Tonus returns to repeat his successful 2011 season. Zach Osborne returns from a very successful supercross campaign in the states and will look to stay injury free in order to chase for the points lead. Buildbase Honda has a list of new riders but its the French Import of Nicolas Aubin who will be looking to give Dave Thorpe his first championship as team owner however Im sure Nev Bradshaw will have something to say about that after allready beating Aubin to become the 2012 British MX2 Supercross Champion.
Last years Redbull champion has had a change of bike and rides for the HM Plant KTM team this season, EBB is certainly capable of winning another championship and will be pushing to edge out the rest of the field throughout the season.
So who else do we think can ride at the top of the pack, well we must give a shout out to Ray Rowson on the Maxxis Henderson LPE team. We watched Ray at the Kawasaki launch day and the guy was flying, also watch for Stuart Edmonds, Graham Erwin, James Cottrell and a whole host of the young guys who will be making a name for themselves.

The only downside to this weekend is that a couple of our home grown stars cant make this event. Both Tommy Searle and Jake Nichols will be competeing in events in Europe.
Give us a shout and tell us who you think will be stood on the podium on sunday afternoon, also dont forget to follow us on Twitter @ProAm_MX for all the racing updates.
