Karro to miss start of season

Matiss Karro, who rode at Valence at the weekend for the first time since his horrific crash last July at the Swedish GP has suffered more misfortune. While training at Lommel he landed heavily off a jump and bent his wrist back. A scan a few hours later confirmed the young Latvian’s worst fears that it was fractured.

Team manager Steve Turner was understandably dejected, “I can’t believe Matiss’s bad luck. He is obviously really upset and the rest of the team is absolutely gutted for him. He has worked so hard to recover from last season’s injuries and has shown a tremendous desire and commitment to get back to full fitness. He’ll have the wrist wired in the next 48 hours and hopefully be back on the bike pretty soon.”
